The boys were looking to get their Peal Shield campaign back on track today against a Little Ealing team who have been struggling in this years competition. The boys were brilliant from start to finish, including Zach P who was making his Peal Shield debut in style by scoring a brilliant goal with his left foot. The whistle blew today at 6 -0 to Fielding.
The win puts Fielding up into 3rd place in the group and back in contention for a semi final spot.
The girls team had an unfortunate set of circumstances which put a dent in their preparations for their game. They were due to kick off after the boys team had finished but Little Ealing turned up wanting to play both games simultaneously as they needed to get back to school. This meant that the girls had to rush down from class and get on the pitch without much chance to get their minds ready. However, we have a strong sent of girls so without any complaints they kicked off. It seemed as though they may have been rattled however as they went in at half time 3-0 down. At half time the girls took a few minutes to regain some composure and set about turning things around in the second half. They battled very hard for it and pulled 2 goals back, unfortunately though Little Ealing also added another with a good counter attack. The final score was 4-2 to Little Ealing. A first loss in the girls Peal Shield campaign saw them drop down to 3rd place as the top 4 teams were all tied on 9 points. With 2 games left it is looking very close!
Next up for the boys and the girls is Christ the Saviour. With a string finish we could see both teams in the draw for the semi finals. Lets go Fielding.
