Today, after last weeks success was the turn of our year 3/4 Gymnastics team to compete in this years Featherstone tournament. The same as our 5/6 team, they had been working hard putting in extra hours in order to prepare for today. All of the hard work paid off and some as we held our nerve it what was a very high pressure situation. The second team as last week finished 4th out of 6 teams and the 1st team came in again with the silver medal which means they qualify for the area finals. With more training will be hoping to get through to represent Ealing at the London youth games.
A huge well to done to all our squad.
Last Friday saw us take two year 5/6 teams to the Featherstone Gymnastics competition.
Last year was our first year at entering and we narrowly missed out on a medal place, so this year we had been putting in extra practice in order to challenge further.
The second team did very well and came very close to getting bronze finishing 4th only by 0.3 of a mark.
The first team however went a step further and manged a silver medal finishing just behind Little Ealing. This means we qualify for the area finals a chance to be the best in Ealing.
Amazing achievement and well deserved after putting in the extra hours well down everyone.
Today we took 2 teams of gymnasts to Ellen Wilkinson School for this years joint Featherstone and Willow Tree Partnership competition. Both teams have been working extremely hard during gymnastics training on a Monday lunchtimes since the new year and were hoping that hard work would pay off. The gymnasts competed across 3 different events; Floor, Vault and Body Management. We were very pleased to learn that at the end of the day the A team finished in 4th place in their competition and the B team had finished in 3rd in theirs. This is a fantastic achievement for both teams as more than 30 schools were in attendance at today's competition. Well done to everyone involved!
Today our Year 3 and 4 Gymnastics squad went to Ellen Wilkinson School for this years Featherstone and Willow Tree competition. There were over 30 schools competing today and so the standard of competition was going to be very high. Our gymnasts have been training at school every Monday lunchtime since January in an effort to get themselves ready for today and they were all excited to see what they could do. After competing against other schools in the Floor, Vault and Body Management events we were very pleased to learn that we had finished in 4th place! We were also a little disappointed to find out that we missed out on a bronze medal but less than 1 point! Still, it was a great achievement for our children to finish 4th out of so many schools so well done!
