We had a very busy but very successful first week back in school after the Easter holiday with our sports teams at Fielding. On Thursday last week the Year 3 and 4 tennis teams were at Will to Win, Lammas Park to compete against other schools in this years Featherstone competition. Our B team finished 2nd in their competition and the A team finished 1st! Brilliant tennis from our younger tennis players and a another Borough finals to look forward to for the A team now.
On Friday the Girls Football team played in the RSK Cup Final against Oaklands. The competition started in September and so the girls have done lots of work to get to this stage. They were awesome in the final and after 40 minutes of football the score finished 9-1 to Fielding! This means that Fielding become the first school to retain the RSK Cup for 2 years in a row.
Also on Friday, the Boys Football team played in the Peal Shield Final. This competition runs with the same format as the RSK Cup so again the team has been working hard all year to get to this point. The boys game against Mount Carmel was a much closer affair and ended 2-2 after extra time which meant penalties were needed to decide the outcome. The boys held their nerve to win and reclaim the Peal Shield that Fielding last won 3 years ago.
Finally, yesterday the Year 4 Mixed Rugby Team played in a game against St. Mark's. Even after months without playing together as a school team they ended up winning a very close game 13-12.
Well done to all of our sportsmen and women who have already represented the school this term.
