Friday 7th July 2017 - Year 5 and 6

The final day of sports day saw the top of the school battling it out for the last of this years PE points for the Constellation Cup. We have a winner....but we are going to wait until Year 6 are back from France to announce it!

In the meantime, check out some of our favourite photos. Big thanks today to QPR for helping out on some of the events again, the staff and the parents...and our Year 4 helpers today!

Thursday 6th July 2017 - Year 3 and 4

The penultimate day of this years Sports Week was contested by children in Year 3 and 4 in the first day that offered up some athletics. All of our children took part in the sprints, 400m, javelin and shotput and they nominated each other in their constellations to see who represented the teams in high jump, long jump, mile and the relay. Well done to everyone who competed and a special thank you to our Year 6 helpers, QPR, the staff and the parents for coming!

Wednesday 5th July 2017 - Year 1 and 2

Today was the start of the final constellation competition of the year as our Year 1s and 2s competed against each other in their constellations across 7 sports day events. The weather was beautiful and most of the children were smiling whilst they were competing. Here are some of our favourite pictures...

Tuesday 4th July 2017 - Nursery and Reception

Our Nursery and Reception children kicked off Sports Week in spectacular fashion today as they competed across 4 events. The emphasis on all of the events today was teamwork and having fun being active, but all of the children still loved trying to win Nuts and Squirrels, the Target Throw, the Quoit Toss and the Teddy Bear Relay. Check out the pictures below of our youngest children in the school enjoying their sports day!

It was time this morning for the Sports Day Medal Ceremony. We handed out 192 medals and 8 Values trophies, found out which constellation won the Sports Day and which constellation won the Fielding PE and Sport Constellation Cup.

Drum roll please...

The Constellation Athletics Tournament a.k.a. Sports Day was won by...CYGNUS!

Cygnus won with 2385 points, Hercules were 2nd with 2376 points, Orion were 3rd with 2371 points and Pegasus were 4th with 2255 points. A big well done to everybody in Cygnus for contributing towards another win for the constellation.

To determine the winner of the PE and Sport Constellation Cup all of the points from all of the constellation tournaments throughout the year have been added up. The winning constellation narrowly won by 4 points! A tiny margin considering the competition has been going all year and the winning number of points was 3307!

A bigger more dramatic drum roll please....

Well done to HERCULES for winning the first ever Fielding PE and Sport Constellation Cup with 3307 points. Well done to Cygnus for finishing in 2nd place with 3303 points, Orion for finishing 3rd with 3293 points and Pegasus for finishing 4th with 3177 points.

It has been a fantastic year of sport at Fielding and we can't wait for September and the start of a brand new competition. After Tuesday everybody will back to zero points so start getting ready for next year!

Enjoy your summer holiday everybody.

Friday 15th July 2016

Today is the final day of a week of Sports Days and we finish at the top end of the school with Year 5 and 6. It has been a brilliant week of sport and Year 5 and 6 did not disappoint us, as they ensured that we ended with quite probably the best day of competition.

At the end of the day, in all of the excitement of another thrilling parent/teacher 3 legged race we couldn't get the scores calculated in time so Year 5 and 6 had to end the day wondering who came out on top. We can now tell you that in Year 5 and 6 it was Hercules who scored most points with 791, Orion were in 2nd with 751, Cygnus were 3rd with 724 and Pegasus were 4th with 675.

But who is the overall Athletics winner? And who is the first winner of the PE and Sport Constellation Cup?

You will have to wait until Monday to find out.

Thursday 14th July 2016

Year 3 and 4 Sports Day today and again every single child put in a huge effort to make the day brilliant. Year 3 and 4 were out first athletics sports day of the week which meant each class competing in 7 events plus mixed team relays.

At the end of a superb day of competition from Year 3 and 4, Hercules were in the lead with 732 points, Cygnus were in 2nd with 729, Orion were in 3rd with 714 and Pegasus were in 4th with 686.

With one more day to go it is still all to play for. Good luck Year 5 and 6 tomorrow!

Wednesday 13th July - Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2

The Fielding Sports Days started yesterday with AM Nursery and Reception Blue and Green and they started with a bang! The morning was brilliant, the sun was shining, the children were working hard for their teams and loving the competition and the parents were cheering non stop. Every single child did absolutely fantastic and should be very proud of themselves for doing so well.

Unfortunately, the weatherman wasn't kind in the afternoon and the PM Nursery and Reception Yellow and Red Sports day was postponed. However, the rain held off stayed away after 2pm today so we were able to get the children out to enjoy their day. We saw exactly the same effort and enjoyment from the children and exactly the same encouragement and support from the parents. We have been so impressed with all of Nursery and Reception this term and all of their hard work paid off during Sports Day as they put on a great show for us! Well done!

This morning was the Year 1 and 2 Sports day and so we had all 8 classes out on their field competing for their constellation and the PE and Sport Constellation Cup. We had 7 events and every child took part and competed in each one. Again we were so impressed with everybody's huge effort and the fantastic positive attitudes that each child showed. After just under 3 hours or competition, and lots and lots of fun we had our first scores in for the cup...

...but we are not going to tell you until Monday! Well done everybody for a superb effort today. Key Stage 2, you have a lot to live up to! Good luck to all the constellations.

Friday 15th July - Year 5 and 6 - 9.10am - 3.30pm

Parents are warmly welcomed to come and support children at their sports day. With Key Stage 2 now competing at a full day event it is of course understandable if you cannot make the whole day but please feel free to come and support for just part of the day.

We can't wait to see you at Sports Day and we hope everybody can make the day a special one to remember for our children taking part.
