Today the boys and girls football teams both played in their final group game of the Peal Shield against Selborne. Both teams were excellent and finished with convincing wins. The boys won 5-1 and the girls won 8-0. Full match reports are currently in print with some of our budding Year 6 writers and will be here to read very soon!

Fielding Girls v Selbourne in RSK Cup

First the girls do rock paper scissors to see who starts. Fielding win. Both sides look nervous and play is a bit scrappy and could go either way. Ava has to boot the ball out of the box to save Fielding. Fielding begin some good passing to each other and Hana passes the ball to Izzy and Izzy takes a shot but hits a defender. Lily also takes a shot but the goal keeper saves it. Lily takes a corner which was cleared out by a Selbourne defender. Lily then wins the ball and crosses it to Annabel but the keeper makes a good save. Lily then basically dribbles through the whole team but can't find the back of the net. Izzy dribbles through lots of players and takes a shot but sadly it was saved. Lily takes an amazing corner which hits the post and then is deflected off a Selbourne player and hits the post again. Izzy dribbles down the line and passes it to Annabel but unfortunately the ball just goes wide. Lily shoots twice but each time it is saved but then the ball drops to Annabel and she SCORES!!!!

FIELDING 1 0 SELBOURNE

Fielding look more settled now and Lily dribbles again and runs really fast through the whole team and SCORES !!!!

FIELDING 2 0 SELBOUNE

Lily wins the ball and passes to Hana who has a great shot but sadly it goes slightly wide. Izzy then does tricks and skills and powers the ball into the top corner of the net. GOAL!!!!

FIELDING 3 0 SELBOURNE.

Annabel smashes the ball again at the keeper but it is saved. Ava and Zoe are doing a great job keeping Fielding's dreams alive with strong defending and they look confident when Selbourne attack. Aisha then does a spectacular save. Well done Aisha! Annabel runs down the wing and passes to Lily who beats two players and scores in the bottom corner. GOAL!!!!

FIELDING 4 0 SELBOURNE

Lily wins the ball again after a tough tackle, passes to Annabel who kicks the ball in the net! GOAL!!!!

FIELDING 5 0 SELBOURNE

Annabel does some great tackles, crosses the ball to Hana who looks confident and strikes the ball into the back of the net! GOAL!!!!

FIELDING 6 0 SELBOURNE

Annabel wins the ball and crosses it to Lily, Lily thinks about taking a shot but passes it to Hana and Hana scores again! Well done Hana! GOAL!!!!

FIELDING 7 0 SELBOURNE

Selbourne girls battle it outand there was a nasty tackle on Izzy!! Nancy and Emily come on to rest a few of the girls and they play well getting in some good passes and defending when they need to. Annabel takes a free kick but hits it wide. Izzy then wins the ball to score a magical free kick! GOAL!!!!

FIELDING 8 0 SELBOURNE

HALF TIME

It was a more balanced second half. Izzy skilled up most of the players in the Selbourne team and she shoots but it hits the crossbar. Corner for Fielding but it went too high. Hana has a shot but the keeper saved it. Selbourne are one on one with our keeper and take a shot but it's another amazing save from Aisha.

• Selbourne No.7 misses a shot as it just goes wide
• Half-time and the teams have a quick chat
• The second half starts and Selbourne score to give themselves a lifeline as they make it 2-1
• As time flies by, Noah heads in a brilliant cross by Mateo to make it 3-1
• Great save by Armaan as the shot was sailing into the top corner
• Emile scores a beauty to make it 4-1 and he completes his hat-trick
• Close shot by Mateo as we head into the last 10 minutes
• And later, Johnny scores to make it 5-1

And we finish the match as Marco shoots and it sails over the cross bar.

What a fantastic match and a fantastic win for the Fielding boys!!!
