On Tuesday 2nd November, Fielding took 2 teams to Spikes Bridge Park to compete in this years Featherstone SSP Tag Rugby competition.

Fielding Whites were drawn into a group with Dormers Wells, Little Ealing Gold and St. Mark's Silver. We started well with a 3-0 win against Dormers Wells before losing 3-0 to Little Ealing and then St. Mark's. Following the conclusion of the group games, Fielding Whites found that they would continue the competition in the semi final of the Plate where they would meet Little Ealing Silver. It was a tough game that we ultimately lost to go out of the competition.

Fielding Blues started their day off with a 3-0 win against Berrymede before losing 2-1 to St. Mark's Gold. They then fought out a 0-0 draw with Mount Carmel before ending the group games with a 2-0 win against Little Ealing Silver. This was enough to finish 2nd in the group and qualify for the semi finals of the main competition where we would play Little Ealing Gold. It was an extremely close game which could not be settled in normal time and so 5 minutes extra time was added in which the first team to score would win the game. After this the game was still tied and so after every minute both teams had to remove a player until someone scored. Both teams were reduced to just 4 players each before a try was finally scored and unfortunately for us it was by Little Ealing. We then had to pick ourselves up for a 3rd/4th place playoff spot against St. Mark's Silver almost as soon as the final whistle was blown. We were tired but tried our hardest to get the win. the game went to extra time again as it ended 2-2 before a golden try and the match winner was scored by St. Mark's

Both teams were brilliant today and should be very proud of their efforts and the way that they represented the school. Well done!
