Lockdown Hero nomination for national award

Fielding pupil nominates her teacher as 'Lockdown Hero' in the Pearson National Teaching Awards. This new category recognises outstanding learner and community support.

We are delighted that one of our pupils values her school and teacher so much, "I believe that Fielding Primary School is a great place to learn because the staff and teachers are always on hand to help if you need it. They give us daily meetings so that we don't get bored or lonely. We also have a worry box that you can email if you are worried about something. They always want us to do our best and to become the best person you can possibly be.

"I want to nominate [my teacher] because they have daily meetings with us to make sure that we don't get bored. We also have story time after lunch where he/she reads a section of our chosen book which keeps things interesting as you don't know what will happen next. They have made sure that we are happy and they try and improve our mental wellbeing. We have a Values Baccalaureate and if we complete all of the tasks we get a patch to iron/sew onto our school jumper or fleeces. Every week, they send us a recorded assembly which explains the pandemic more because if you know more about something, you feel less scared."

Our pupils are proud of their school. Their words are the best appreciation a teacher can receive.
