New government advice, released yesterday, hints that overnight school trips could start from Easter 2021 if the scientific evidence supports a change. Currently, the government is advising against all such trips for schools.

The government is expecting to review the advice to schools in February 2021.

 

Year 4 parents, please note new provisional arrangements for the Museum of London visit, below. Other age groups remain unchanged.

 

We recognise the enormous benefit to children from residential trips. Our provisional plans and bookings are:

• Year 3, Camp-out on the field and bush-craft activities. We have made a provisional booking for 10-11 June 2021. Please hold the date. We will ask you for a deposit and final payment if we confirm the booking. Estimated cost, £49. Perhaps start setting aside some money now.
• Year 4, Museum of London sleep-over. We have made a provisional booking for Thursday 27 May 2021. Please hold the date. We will ask you for a deposit and final payment if we confirm the booking. Estimated cost, £84 per pupil. Perhaps start setting aside some money now. 
• Year 5, Action and adventure weekend at PGL Little Canada, Isle of Wight. We have made a provisional booking for 14-17 May 2021. Please continue to hold the date. We will ask you for a deposit and final payment if we confirm the booking. Estimated cost, £265 per pupil. Perhaps start setting aside some money now.
• Year 6, France. International travel continues be unlikely and poses too much uncertainty for schools. Our contingency plan is to offer Year 6 pupils their own weekend of action and adventure at PGL Little Canada, Isle of Wight (to replace the visit they missed at the end of Year 5). We have made a provisional booking for 2-5 July 2021. Please continue to hold the date. We will ask you for a deposit and final payment if we confirm the booking.
