  • PTFA MEETING - Monday 3 June

    Fri 24 May 2019

The PTFA will be hosting its regular parents meeting on Monday 3 June. We'll discuss upcoming events including the Circus, Summer Picnic and Summer Fair amongst other things.

Could we ask that at least one Class Rep from each class attend one of these meetings as the next six weeks are critical to our fundraising efforts for the Kitchen Garden extension and the Artifact boxes that we will be funding!

The meeting will be repeated twice during the day (once in the morning with Mr Dunmall, and again in the evening) to allow as many parents/carers to participate.

The morning meeting is in the school house after morning drop off (9.00am) and the evening meeting on the same day, also in the school house at 8.30pm.

All parents are welcome to join us at one of these meetings and it would be great to see as many of you as possible.

The morning meeting is accompanied by tea and coffee. The evening meeting is accompanied by a glass of wine and it would be great for parents to stay for a drink or two after the meeting. It is a great opportunity to meet other parents especially if you are new to the school. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Plans for our multi-sport playing surface

Thu 23 May 2019 Peter Dunmall

Following our initial consultation, the Governing Body is continuing with our plans to install a multi-sports playing surface, up to 1,820m² (34.5m x 52.75m) in size with directional lighting and boundary fencing on part of our existing grassed playing field to enable all-year round sports and play provision during and after the school day.

We are inviting stakeholders, including parents, neighbours and local residents, to view and comment on our plans, before we apply for formal planning approval so that we can make this change for our pupils and community in the best way possible:

    Thursday 13th June, 7-9pm

    Main Hall

    Saturday 29th June, 1-3pm

    (during PTFA Summer Fair)

    Dining Hall

At each session, our plans and computer generated images of our design will be available for viewing.  Our architects, governors and school leaders will mingle with visitors, hearing views and answering questions.

The school playing field is important to the school sports curriculum, and highly popular with children during dry periods, but it is prone to water-logging and becoming slippery with mud, which means much of the year it is not used.  With the nationwide emphasis on increasing sports and physical activity for primary school children we need a space that we can use all year round. This is why we are proposing a new multi-sports playing surface.  The Governing Body has gathered views from stakeholders about the location, use by community users and times of operation to inform our plans.

Parents will have an opportunity to share your views about our plans from Thursday 13th June until Monday 8th July at 9am..  There are several ways to share your thoughts:

    • paper form: available at each information session

Further information is available to view and/or download from the school’s website:

  • Pupils have their say, chosen charities for next school year

Thu 23 May 2019 Clare Haines

Each term children in Years 1-6 work together in mixed age groups in our 'parliament assemblies' to debate a current school issue.

This term the children have worked together to select the charities we will be fundraising for during the next school year.

    The selected charities are:

  • The Big Picnic on Saturday 8th June 2019, from 2 pm to 9 pm

    Thu 16 May 2019

Tickets are now on sale for the The Big Picnic on Saturday 8th June 2019, from 2 pm to 9 pm. It will be a great day for parents and carers to mingle while the kids are free to play on the school field.

Bring a picnic and picnic rug (or folding chairs) and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends. The gates will only be opened (for entry and exit) at 2 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm and 9 pm so that the kids can run about in safety with the gates locked at all other times. We'll have a BBQ, Refreshments, a Fire Engine (pending no emergencies) and other games and activities during the day.

Advanced tickets are £5 per family (plus booking fee) - a 50% reduction on tickets that will be available on the day (which will be £10). Advanced ticket bookings will stop on Tuesday 4th June. It is a relaxing day, great value and raises funds to spend on exciting things in school such as play equipment, school trips and the allotment.

The event can’t run without volunteers so please indicate how you can help when you make your booking.

  • Local schools to be invited to Circus

    Thu 16 May 2019

We, as the PTFA, are aware how lucky we are at Fielding to have enough space for a Circus 'Big Top' on site and we wanted to share this opportunity with other primary schools in Ealing.  We have managed to secure an extra nights performance for Tuesday the 16th July at 6pm. We are therefore planning to open up our ticket bookings to other schools. This will not only help raise funds for Fielding PTFA but also for neighboring schools to make money for their PTA's in the process.

We obviously wanted to ensure Fielding children and parents had the opportunity to buy tickets first, so this is the last call before tickets are opened up to other schools.

Tickets have been selling very well and the Sunday performance is certainly the most popular.  There are only a handful of tickets left for this performance.  Book here to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are £10 plus a 50p booking fee. Children under 2 yrs old can sit on laps. Tickets available at https://www.tickettailor.com/events/fieldingptfa/254456/

    • teach your child to apply suncream
    • supervise your child while they apply suncream to all exposed areas in the morning before school
    • if you would like your child to apply suncream during the day please clearly label it and put it in their bag, let their teacher know
