Keep up to date with all the news happening in the school at the moment. Articles are added during the week. Parents are encouraged to check regularly. Our weekly bulletin, emailed directly to parents, summarises content for the week.
Our Values Baccalaureate gives pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 the chance to use and show our values in and out of school. Pupils find and chose different ways to show our values. Many pupils find this interesting and rewarding.
Teachers encourage all pupils to at least complete the Bronze Award. This helps their wider, personal development, beyond learning in the classroom.
There are 3 levels of award: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Year 4 pupils and others who have not yet started the Baccalaureate start at Bronze. After the Bronze award, pupils may move on to Silver and then Gold, usually in Year 6. At each award, pupils gain a patch to wear on their school uniform.
The tasks build in size and challenge with each stage of the award. Pupils work at their own pace through Bronze, Silver and Gold. They record completion of their tasks using their notebook in Microsoft Teams or on paper.

Next week (week beginning 4th October), pupils in Years 4 and 6 will participate in an important Health behaviour survey. This is a survey that our Years 4 and 6 pupils take part in every 2 years which gives us lots of information on a wide range of health behaviour including:
The survey will be done in computer lessons. If you wish to see a copy of the questions, you can ask at the school reception desk.

This is a reminder that the PTFA AGM is being held on Monday 4 October - in a face to face environment in the School Hall. We'll be showcasing some of the projects the PTFA have funded, alongside confirming a calendar of events for the next 12 months. Please come along and let us know what you think!
We ask that a class rep from each class attend the meeting if they can, but any parent/carer is free to attend to find out more about what we do. The meeting kicks off at 8.30pm in the Main Hall at Fielding Primary School and should last no longer than 60mins. We'll have drinks available too.
Unfortunately a number of dedicated PTFA committee members are now stepping aside. We rely on volunteers to run the PTFA and the majority have full time jobs. We understand these are tough times, but if you believe in helping enrich the education of our children and have even a small amount of time (30mins a week), we are on the lookout for some parents to help support central activities. Even if you are new to volunteering there is plenty of guidance from the rest of the team. We'll happily explain the roles in more detail either face-to-face or via fieldingPTFA@gmail.com
Family Lives provide targeted early intervention and crisis support to families who are struggling. This could include family breakdown, challenging relationships and behaviour, debt, and emotional and mental wellbeing.

Every mental health trust in London has put in place a 24/7 crisis line for people of all ages - children, young people and adults. The lines which are free to call can provide advice to those in a crisis. These crisis lines are supported by trained mental health advisors 365 days a year. You can find the 24/7 crisis line numbers using the NHS Service Finder (link below) but the table provides all of the telephone numbers in London.

Many thanks to the 78 families who attended the Reception Picnic on Sunday. It provided the perfect opportunity to new pupils and parents joining the school to meet fellow classmates and their families in a relaxed environment on the school field.
Well done to all those pupils and parents who ran in the Fielding Mini Mile/Half Marathon last weekend. Thankfully the weather gave near perfect conditions for the run and so far we haven't heard of any injuries.
We look forward to holding our online parent and carer drop- in on Thursday, 7th October, 9:15-10;15am.
This is an opportunity to book an online meeting slot with Mrs Chadwick(SENDCo) and Mrs Reehal (Learning Mentor) to discuss any aspect of your child's learning or wellbeing.
Please email: sendco@fielding.ealing.sch.uk for an allocated meeting time and Microsoft Teams invite.
Last week Mr Dunmall updated parents on the current status of regular parent contributions and the amounts projected from childcare income to help plug the shortfall in government funding for school activities.
This prompted a number of parents to ask the PTFA about one-off donations with the added benefit of GiftAid - which gives a 25% uplift to any donation courtesy of the government. (Fielding PTFA is set up as a charity organisation).
The PTFA have already received around £3,000 in one-off donations via the GiftAid route. If anyone would like to make a one-off donation, then please use this link via the Charities Aid Foundation which is linked directly to Fielding PTFA's bank account. https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/17518.
Thank you to those parents who have been able to support us in this way. It goes a long way to help fund all the amazing extras that Fielding pupils enjoy including the Kitchen Garden, Music Lesson, Forest School, Library Services and school trips!
Don't forget the PTFA AGM is on Monday 4 October 2021 at 8.30pm
