Primary School and Nursery
You can find lots of advice here. Bringing up children who are of primary school age is a crucial time for their development. They may be taking small steps to be more independent but also laying the foundation for their future through social skills and developing their values. Family Lives have lots of advice in this section from challenging behaviour, self-esteem to education. The articles are written by a team of family support workers who have years of experience of raising primary school aged children and understand the challenges faced by parents.
Ealing Parenting Service is the main provider of parenting programmes, courses and workshops in Ealing.
All parents face parenting challenges from time-to-time; and may need some support through new ideas and new learning to help them deal with issues they’re experiencing with their children.
Ealing Parenting Service is pleased to be able to offer a range of parenting programmes to parents of children from as young as three to parents of teenagers and young people up to the age of 19.
The Circle is a hub space and café that offers support for young people in Ealing who are at, or near crisis point with their mental health.
Most of the young people attending A&E for mental health support are dealing with anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviour and suicidality risks. The earlier a young person gets support for their mental health, the more effective that support will be. That’s why Circle exists: to provide mental health support early, and prevent things getting worse.
Therapy for children, young people & parents.
I am a fully accredited (BACP), West London-based Child Counsellor. I see children and young people, from 4 to 18 years old. My approach is creative, anchored in attachment theory and various trauma-informed models such as Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiousity and Empathy (PACE). I also support parents and carers, who may be going through life changes, parenting challenges or to help navigate the often complex role of being a parent. I studied Integrative Child Psychotherapy and Gestalt Psychotherapy (adult), have been in clinical practice for 5 years, and in Fielding Primary School since 2023.
