Our boys performance team travelled to Pitshanger Fc today to compete in the PEAL Shield final against Gifford Primary School.
Our boys put in a determined and spirited performance today, narrowly losing 1–0 to Gifford Primary School in what proved to be a tightly contested and hard-fought match.
From the first whistle, both teams showed strong organisation and discipline, resulting in very few clear-cut chances throughout the game. Midfield battles were intense, with both sides working tirelessly to disrupt play and limit space. The boys demonstrated excellent resilience, staying compact and committed in their defensive shape.
The match was ultimately decided by a single moment, as Gifford were awarded a penalty in the closing seconds of the first half. Despite a good effort from Myles, the penalty was converted, putting Gifford ahead.
The boys did not drop their heads, but instead responded with great character. The team pushed forward in search of an equaliser, showing determination and courage in possession. However, Gifford’s defence held firm, and chances remained limited at both ends.
The boys showed real bravery in challenges, supported one another well, and maintained focus under pressure. Their resilience ensured the game remained close right until the final whistle.
Overall, while the result did not go our way, the performance was full of positives. The boys can be immensely proud of their effort, teamwork, and attitude this season.
