Winter weather

Snow is falling in other parts of the country this week. It's timely for a reminder about our approach to winter weather. If it snows in London, there is a risk that travel disruption may affect staff and pupils.

It is highly unlikely that the school, Nursery, ARP and/or childcare will close:

  • staff are asked to make their best effort to get to work, including allowing longer for travel;
  • pupils and parents are encouraged to allow a little longer to travel to school, including taking care while on the school site of any untreated surfaces;
  • we will do our best to clear any snow and treat main walking routes through the school site.

If we are forced to close or partially close, perhaps as a result of burst pipes, no heating and/or too few staff, we will take the decision by 8am of the morning of any closure (earlier if possible), posting information on Latest News.

In the event of very cold weather, we will switch to 'cold play' arrangements where

  • all pupils stay inside for break times, or
  • pupils have outdoor break times with the option of popping inside some, ground-floor, classrooms to warm-up, if they wish.
