On Monday 21st October, our boys Performance team took on Oaklands in the opener of the PEAL Shield, in what proved to be a thrilling game.

 

The opening 10 minutes was a dominant display with many chances being created from us, but unfortunately not being able to capitalise on these. A few minutes later and with both Max (6S) and Rory (6S) charging down the wings, we finally got the opener with Max (6S) dispatching a close effort into the roof of the net. We took momentum from this with goals coming in quick succession and taking us into half time with a deserved 4-0 lead.

 

The second half started fast paced again with Fielding pressing Oaklands high up the pitch to win the ball multiple times. Not long into the half, we capitalised on our domination with a fifth and sixth goal being scored. With the game closing out and Tommi (6P) not having much to do all game, he was called into action to make a block and keep the clean sheet. The final score ended 9-0 to Fielding.

 

Well done to the team for such an impressive team performance and result.
