PTFA: Summer Picnic raises nearly £4,000

After an absence of 3 years, we were delighted to welcome the return of the start of year school picnic.

Thankfully the weather gods blessed us with (mostly) blue skies and warm sunshine, and a fantastic day was had by over 600 people over the course of the day. Thanks to all who attended, it was wonderful to come together as a school community and in particular welcome all the new parents to a PTFA event.

We had our usual BBQ, cash bar, a visit from the local fire brigade, and the welcome return of the fantastic parents’ band. They may have created a rod for their own backs as, by all accounts, they really rocked the party. We hope they’ll be back for the next big event...

While not the focus of the day, it was brilliant to raise approximately £4,000 for the PTFA, so a special thank you to all the volunteers who helped set up, run and clean up. It simply wouldn’t be possible for the PTFA to put on these events without a strong volunteer base, so we’re keen to get more people on board.

A big shout out to all the nursery and reception parents helping for the first time, and of course to Nolan who was on site from mid-morning until clean-up was completed.
