Year 5 and 6 to Trial New Home Learning Platform – Century Tech

Starting next week, our Year 5 and 6 pupils will begin trialling a new home learning platform called Century Tech. This innovative program will replace the current CGP books and will be used for setting homework for the remainder of the year.

We’re introducing Century Tech to enhance the home learning experience for both pupils and families. Here’s why we’re making the change:

  • ✅ A more engaging and interactive learning experience at home
  • ✅ Better assessment tools for teachers to support next steps in learning
  • ✅ More personalised support for pupils, especially in intervention groups

How It Works

On Monday, all Year 5 and 6 pupils will receive their login details for Century Tech. Their first homework task will also be set that day and will be due the following Monday.

Each homework task will begin with a shared learning activity (called a “nugget”). Based on how pupils respond, the platform will automatically assign two follow-up tasks tailored to their needs—either to reinforce learning or to provide further challenge.

Teachers will be able to see:

  • Who has completed the homework
  • How long pupils spent on each task
  • How well they understood the content

This will help teachers identify any common areas of difficulty and address them in class.

Access and Support

If your child does not have access to a device at home, they are welcome to complete their homework at Homework Club, which runs before and after school on set days. These are invite only clubs so please let your child’s class teacher know if they need to attend.

To help pupils get started, class teachers will give a demonstration of the platform either today or on Monday. We’ll also be sharing a short video that explains how Century Tech works—please take a moment to watch it so you can support your child at home.

We’d Love Your Feedback!

Century Tech is already being used successfully in many schools across the country. As this is a new step for us, we’d really value your feedback on how your child finds using the platform at home.

Thank you for your continued support as we explore new ways to make learning even more effective and enjoyable!
