Before the end of last term, we had planned to increase our instrumental tuition offer to meet increasing demand by adding a second provider, TotallyRAD. Parents were given the option to have music lessons with either EMS or TotallyRAD.
We hoped this offer would be up and running by the beginning of this term but due to a number of challenges, we were not able to deliver this.

We shared updates with parents who had requested to move from EMS and start lessons with TotallyRAD, many of them told us they had lost confidence in the new offer and wanted to remain with EMS or cancel altogether. Given that EMS had some capacity to accept those students and in an effort to maintain consistency and reliability, we have decided to end our arrangement with TotallyRAD and give those students the opportunity to return to an EMS timetable.

We still intend to increase our offer during this academic year but for the time being, arrangements for the rest of this term are as follows:

• Pupils who were having lessons in the summer term last year and asked to move from EMS to TotallyRAD are being contacted first and offered available slots.
• Once all of the above pupils have been contacted, pupils on the waiting list will be contacted and offered the remaining available slots.  
• New sign ups are currently on hold while we resolve this as we want to make sure that people already on the waiting list are given priority.

For parents who have already sent an email and are waiting for a response, we aim to respond to you as soon as possible.
The music inbox receives a high volume of messages each day but all queries related to instrumental tuition will be resolved by the start of Autumn Term 2, Monday 3rd November.
