
The Year 5/6 Development Football team took part in their first tournament of the year, and what a debut it was! Despite being a very new team, they played with determination, skill and fantastic spirit, finishing an incredible 3rd out of 20 teams.
The team stormed through the group stages, winning every single match, and conceding only one goal throughout. Their teamwork, communication and resilience were clear from the very first whistle, and they quickly established themselves as one of the strongest sides in the competition, finishing at the top of the table in their league.
Fielding vs Little Ealing B: 4-0 (Fleur 5P Hat-trick, Freya- 5F)

Fielding vs Lady Margaret: 3-1 (Fleur- 5P x2, Astrid- 5S)
Fielding vs Wolf Fields: 2- 0 (Freya- 5F, Astrid- 5S)
The quarter-final produced one of the tensest moments of the day. After scoring an early goal, the team defended brilliantly, only to concede an equaliser in the final seconds of the match, finishing 1-1 to Tudor. This resulted in penalties. Sophie- 6S and Freya- 5F showed real bravery when stepping up to the spot, but the shootout was finally won after a superb strike from Fleur- 5P.
The semi-finals proved to be a tough challenge against Mount Carmel. Despite a strong performance and tireless effort, the team were defeated 2-0. Determined to finish on a high, the team produced a fantastic display in the third-place play-off. With exceptional defending, key saves by Lola- 6S and clever attacking play, they secured a well-earned 1-0 victory against St Marks, earning themselves a deserved place on the podium and their medals.
Every single player contributed to the team’s success. The defenders, Amira- 6H and Sophie- 6S were disciplined, fearless and incredibly reliable all day. The goalkeeper Lola- 6S showed extreme bravery and agility particularly during the penalty shootout. The midfielders: Mary – 5P, Charlotte- 5S and Benita- 6P worked tirelessly up and down the pitch, linking play and setting up chances. The forwards: Freya- 5F, Fleur- 5P and Astrid- 5S created constant pressure on the oppositions' defence and scored important goals at key moments. Well done girls!
