Girls Performance Football Team Storm to 10-0 Victory in Opening Match!

On Friday 21st November, the Girls Performance Football Team kicked off their league cup campaign in spectacular style, securing a dominant 10-0 win against East Acton Primary School. After just a few minutes, the team grew in confidence thanks to an impressive early strike and goal from Araiya (6P), which set the tone for the rest of the match. From there, the girls took control, racing to a 5-0 lead by half- time.

In true 7-a-side style, the defensive trio performed reliably throughout, maintaining a compact shape and limiting the opposition to very few chances. Their communication, and decision- making allowed the team to build play calmly from the back, and this strong defensive foundation contributed to the scoreline. The solid structure meant the goalkeeper Alice (6P) had very little to do, however, when called upon during brief spells of pressure, produced key saves to preserve the clean sheet.

In midfield and attack, the team worked collaboratively, using quick passing and balanced movement to create opportunities. Their consistent approach led to several well- taken goals and sustained control of possession across both halves.

Marie (6P)- four goals

Araiya (6P)- Hat- trick

Aliza (6H)- two goals

What stood out just as much as the physical performance was the team’s attitude. The girls displayed empathy, respect and great sportsmanship, even when their opposition scored an own goal. All qualities that reflect the values of our school just as much as their impressive play.

A huge well done to the entire squad for an excellent start to their League Cup journey!
