Supporting the charity - Cancer Research

Each year, pupils at our school choose three charities to support: one local, one national, and one global. A range of events are held throughout the school year to raise both awareness and vital funds for these chosen causes.

In November, the school hosted its first charity event in support of the local charity Ealing Foodbank. Thanks to the generosity of Fielding families, an impressive £793.56 was raised, alongside three cars full of essential donated items.

The school’s second charity event of the year will take place on Tuesday 3rd February and will support the nationally chosen charity, Cancer Research.

In the lead‑up to the event, pupils will be learning about the importance of giving and how supporting charitable causes links to the school’s core value of empathy through their Inner Curriculum lessons.

To support the charity, families are invited to make a small voluntary donation on the day, with a suggested contribution of £1. Children will bring their donations into class and, during soft start, will work together to fill the letters of the word ‘empathy’ with their coins.

Donations will be collected from each class and passed on to Cancer Research to support its important work. Teachers have carefully planned the associated values lessons to ensure they are delivered in a mindful and sensitive way, particularly for pupils who may have been directly affected by cancer.
