Dear Parents and Carers,
We are excited to celebrate Book Week 2026 from 2nd–6th March. Throughout the week, the children will take part in a range of activities designed to inspire a love of reading and celebrate the joy of books. Below is a brief outline of the key events that parents and carers can be involved in during this special week.
Reading Café – Wednesday 4th March (EYFS & KS1)
Parents and carers are warmly invited to join their child in EYFS or KS1 for a cosy morning of shared reading in the classroom. This is a lovely opportunity to enjoy a favourite book with your child in their classroom until 9:15am.
Story in a Box – To Bring in on Thursday 5th March
Children are invited to create a 'Story in a Box' at home using a shoebox, tissue box or similar container. Inside, they should build a mini scene inspired by a favourite story.
Please encourage your child to complete their 'Story in a Box' at home and bring it to school on Thursday 5th March. All creations will be displayed in classrooms and year groups will have the opportunity to visit each other’s displays to celebrate everyone’s creativity.

Book Fair – 4th to 10th March (KS1 Library)
The Book Fair will be in the KS1 library from Wednesday 4th March to Tuesday 10th March.
Opening times:
We warmly encourage you to visit with your child to browse the wonderful selection of books available. World Book Day tokens, which will be provided to all children, may be used for £1 off books.
Alongside these events, children will also enjoy a range of activities in school designed to foster a love of reading, such as, drop everything and read, mystery readers and buddy reading with a different year group. For KS1 and KS2, there will also be a special author visit from Kate Wakeling, an award-winning poet whose workshops inspire imagination and creativity through poetry.
If you have any questions about Book Week, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to celebrating a joyful week of reading with the whole school community!
