Reminder, toys and personal items should be kept at home,

We have  noticed a few extra bits and pieces making their way into school recently, so we wanted to share a  reminder about what children should, and shouldn’t, bring into school.

Toys and personal belongings

To help everyone stay focused and avoid items getting lost or causing upset, we ask that pupils do not bring toys, games, trading cards, magnets, or multiple keyrings to school.

A single keyring on a school bag is absolutely fine, many children enjoy choosing one that feels special to them.

Fidget Items

Some children benefit from having a fidget tool as part of their Learning Plan to support their learning. If your child needs one, we just ask that:

  • it is agreed with the school first,
  • we decide together what the item will be, and
  • we are clear about when and how it will be used in class.
A safety note about magnets

A few parents have recently let us know that some children have been bringing in small magnets. Although they can seem like harmless fun, these magnets can be very dangerous if swallowed, causing serious internal injuries.

For this reason, we ask that no magnets are brought into school at any time.

Thank you for your support

Keeping personal items at home helps us create a calm, safe, and happy learning environment for everyone. We really appreciate your help with this.
