Support for families – help is there when you need it

At Fielding Primary School, we know that family life can change, sometimes suddenly, and that even small challenges can feel big when they start to affect children and home life. That is why we continue to review and update the Resources to Support Family Life section of our website – to make sure families can easily find help, advice and support when they need it.

The page is not new, but it has been  updated to reflect the support that families tell us is most helpful. It brings together trusted local and national services in one place, so parents and carers do not have to search or manage on their own.

You might find this page helpful if you are experiencing things such as:

  • coping with loss or bereavement in the family
  • noticing changes in your child’s behaviour, emotions or confidence
  • managing changes in family circumstances, such as separation, illness, housing or financial pressure
  • supporting a child with additional needs or disabilities
  • feeling worried, unsure, or simply needing reassurance and guidance

The services we signpost to are about early help – support that is there before things reach crisis point. Early help can make a real difference, whether that is advice, emotional support, parenting guidance or local services that can work alongside families for a short time.

The updated pages include:

  • parenting advice and practical guidance
  • emotional wellbeing and mental health support
  • SEND information through the Local Offer
  • bereavement support for children, young people and families
  • local services such as Ealing SAFE and the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme

Needing help does not mean something is “wrong”. It means you care about your child and want things to feel better at home. Many families use these services at different points in their lives.

We want to reassure all parents and carers that you are not alone. Support is available, and you are welcome to access it at any time – whether things feel difficult right now or you are simply planning ahead.
