PTFA

What is the PTFA?

We are the Parents, Teachers, Friends Association (PTFA) of Fielding Primary School.

A registered charity (registered charity no.1036586), our mission is to enrich the lives of all children attending our school.

Every parent at Fielding is a part of the PTFA community.

What does the PTFA do?

During the school year, we organise fun and friendly social events for parents and children at the school to raise money for extra-curricular activities for pupils. This helps parents and children get to know one another and build a sense of school community.

The PTFA’s success depends on parent volunteers. Any support you can give to our school community is greatly appreciated and makes a huge difference. It means the school can provide more for our children.

Some of the fantastic fundraising events we organise include our Christmas and Summer Fairs, Weekly Bake Sale, School Disco, Halloween and Easter Trails, The Magic Show and the hugely popular Parent’s Quiz Night.

The PTFA also runs the Pre-Loved Uniform Shop. Opening times will be announced in the School’s weekly Newsletter and via the PTFA’s WhatsApp Community.

What does our PTFA fund?

Thanks to the constant support from our families, Fielding has top facilities and the funds raised by the PTFA have helped the school enrich the curriculum and opportunities for pupils. Below are a few examples but you can also view our Annual Reports here.

How can you get involved in the PTFA?

Every parent with a child at Fielding is a member of our PTFA. You already support our fundraising efforts by attending events but the organisation of these does depend on parent volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, you can do so in the following ways:

Become a Class Rep

Ideally, 2 people from each class volunteer to be Class Rep every year and they support PTFA fundraising efforts by:

  • Sharing PTFA news with their class.
  • Organising volunteers to bake for and help run their class Bake Sale (two classes collaborate to run two bake sales during the school year)
  • Organising their class Stall at the Christmas and Summer Fairs

Useful info for Class Reps:

Volunteer at Events

Support your Class Reps by volunteering your time at events, such as the School Fairs, Bake Sales and Year Group Fundraisers. Just an hour of your time at these events is a really valuable contribution.

PTFA Meetings

Join the PTFA meetings (once per half-term) to share your fundraising ideas, help inform how the money raised is spent and meet parents from other year groups and classes within the school community. View the latest PTFA Meeting Minutes here.

How is PTFA News shared?

PTFA News is communicated at PTFA Meetings, via the PTFA WhatsApp Group and on the Latest News section of the school website. Email fieldingptfa@gmail.com if you have not been added to your Class WhatsApp Group.

The PTFA Committee and Meetings

As the Fielding Primary School PTFA is a registered charity, we have an annually elected committee (drawn from parent volunteers) which is generally made up of a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. In addition, parents volunteer to be Class Reps and we are also lucky enough to have many talented parents who assist the committee with other jobs such as publicity materials, updating website pages, artwork, event planning, communications, design and sponsorship.

  • Chair:  Conor Lyne
  • Co-Chairs:  Giles Martin and Zoë Meskell
  • Treasury Team: Justin Rodger and Ioanna Manolopoulou
  • Secretary Team: Lesley Yueng, Vipul Bosamia
  • Events: Basia Wojtas
  • Communications: Amelia Reddin
  • Eco Team: Julija Gulbinaite, Matilde Ejlertsen

We generally hold a PTFA meeting twice a term and small working groups organise each event - everyone helps in any way they can. If you would like to get involved, contact us:

  • E: fieldingptfa@gmail.com

With your help we can continue to pay for the outstanding facilities, trips and opportunities that our children all enjoy. Thank you!
