A few reminders for families

• All clubs and childcare provision restart tomorrow.
• Children should arrive in full school uniform.
• PE lessons begin next week. Children should wear the correct PE kit on their PE days. Information about PE days can be found on your year group's noticeboard.
• Please take a few moments to read your child's Year Group Newsletter, on the year group noticeboard which contains important information about routines, curriculum plans and key dates.
• Additional information can be found on the online Year Group Noticeboards.

Noticeboards will be updated from 4pm today.

Summer improvements around school

While the children were enjoying their summer holidays, our site team was hard at work leading a range of improvement and maintenance projects across the school.

This summer's work included:

• Installation of new, larger lockers for pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
• Beautiful new wall-art around the school, highlighting key parts of our curriculum and overnight trips.
• Redecoration of Reception classrooms.
• New flooring in a number of shared areas.
• Completion of shading works to first-floor classrooms to better manage summer heat
• An upgrade and extension of our door access control systems, creating separate internal zones for Early Years (Nursery and Reception), Years 1 and 2, and Years 3 to 6.
• Routine maintenance and checking.

Families with children in Years 3 to 6 are encouraged to check the Uniform page on our website for guidance on recommended school bag sizes to ensure bags fit comfortably within the new lockers.

A huge thank you goes to Jateen, Anton and our contractors for their hard work in delivering these improvements.

Staff training and school priorities

Teachers prepared classrooms over the last few days. All staff returned to work today for a professional training session focused on national changes in education and what they mean for our school. We spent time considering updated government expectations and ensuring that our plans for the year ahead are closely aligned with national priorities.

A special thank you goes to Mrs Haines, whose preparation and delivery of this training was excellent this morning, supported by Assistant Head teachers working with their teams this afternoon. 

Following the outstanding outcomes achieved by our pupils last year, our focus this year is not on changing what we do, but on building on our strengths. We will continue to deepen the quality of teaching, sharpen consistency across the school and further embed the highly effective approaches that help our children succeed.

As a result, we feel very well prepared for an Ofsted inspection, which we expect is likely to take place during the Spring or Summer terms.

We would also like to send our warmest congratulations to Miss Paul, who got married during the summer holidays.

She has returned to school as Mrs Bailey, and we know our whole school community will join us in wishing her every happiness for the future.
