Book Week 2025

What a successful week it was, the school was filled with enthusiasm and excitement for reading.

Thank you to our parents for the book donations and for embracing the potato character making. The children loved seeing the characters everyone brought in to school.

Highlights of my week included the joy created by having a 'mystery reader' in each class and to see so many children enjoying sharing a book with a member of their family in our first ever Reading Cafe.

As always Buddy Reading was a highlight. Older children read to younger children and shared some of their own writing that they are particularly proud of.

KS1 and KS2 children enjoyed their time with Zohab Zee Khan who performed his poetry, gave top tips on how to go about creating poetry and played his digeridoo, whilst Alan Robinson delighted Reception children as he described his job as an animator. The children even had a sneak preview of a new character that Alan has created.

The Book Fayre raised £2075. This means we have been allocated an incredible £1245 to spend on books for our school. This will replenish our dictionary and thesaurus stock for the classrooms as well as provide new books for our Nursery children to enjoy. Thank you to Mrs Hodge and our fabulous Librarians.

I am already looking forward to Book Week 2026!
