Fielding Football Tournament

Fielding hosted a boys football competition with both our Performance and Development teams and also Mount Carmel participating.

Performance vs Mount Carmel

With Fielding due to face Mount Carmel in the PEAL Shield this year, this was a chance for us to see what to expect. Fielding secured a 4-1 win in another dominant display with goals from Elias (6F), James (6P) and Rory (6S). They boys played some great football with Jamie (5H) linking well with the defence to create a number of scoring opportunities. Rowan (6F), Conor (6H) and Tommi (6P) provided a solid defence which limited Mount Carmel to very little.

Final Score: 4 - 1

Scorers: Elias, Rory, James x 2

Performance vs Development

In what proved to be a thrilling game, also showcased some great football throughout. The opening minutes did not have much between both sides with chances being created at both ends. The Development team defended extremely well to limit the Performance teams chances with Myles (5H) making some incredible saves to keep the score level. The sustained pressure eventually resulted in the first goal with Elias (6F) finishing from close range. Xavi (5H) and Joseph (6P) scored two amazing team goals but unfortunately the scored ended 6-2 with the Performance team coming away with the victory.

Final Score: 6 - 2

Scorers: (Performance) Jamie x 3, Elias x 3 (Development) Xavi, Joseph

Development vs Mount Carmel

The final game did not have the amount of goals, however the standard of football on display from the Development team was just as impressive. This was their first competitive match of the season together and they performed amazingly, showing determination, bravery and resilience throughout. Many chances were created but unfortunately, we were just not able to take them. As we searched for the winning goal and the team pushed on, we were caught on the break with Mount Carmel scoring. Despite this, they kept their heads up and from kick off were unlucky not to equalise. They can all be extremely proud of their performances in both games.
