As you may already know our Years 3 & 4 tennis team recently have emerged victorious at a local tournament, showcasing their their amazing skills. Adding to this excitement, we finally had the good fortune to secure tickets through the Wimbledon Ballot this year!
Our team was ecstatic as we made our way to the iconic Wimbledon grounds. With fantastic seats on Court 1, the students had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of professional tennis.
The day began with the captivating Ladies Wheelchair Finals. The students were amazed by the athletes' incredible upper body strength and agility, gaining a newfound respect for the sport and its competitors.
Next, we were treated to an exhibition doubles match featuring the legendary Martina Hingis and Kim Clijsters, who faced off against Cara Black and Sam Stosur.
Witnessing Hingis, a tennis icon at 43, was particularly inspiring for our young players.
Additionally, we caught a glimpse of ladies finalist Jasmine Paolina as she trained with her coach, offering the team a behind-the-scenes look at the preparation and dedication required at the highest levels of tennis.
Overall, it was an unforgettable day filled with inspiration and excitement. Our students not only enjoyed world-class tennis but also left with a deeper appreciation for the sport.
We are incredibly proud of their achievements both on and off the court.
