What is High- 5 Netball?
High- 5 Netball is a modified version of Netball designed specifically for children aged 9-11. Played with five players on court, children rotate through all playing positions, helping them to learn every aspect of the game.
Year 5/6 Performance Team
The High- 5 Performance Team delivered an outstanding display of skill, teamwork, and determination during their recent tournament campaign. From the outset, the team set a high standard, dominating their group stage matches with an unbeaten run- winning all but one game, which ended in a hard- fought draw.
Throughout the group stages, the players demonstrated effective spacing, sharp passing, and confident shooting. Their defensive work was just as impressive, consistently disrupting their opponents’ play and turning defence into attack with speed and precision. The team only conceded one goal from their five matches in the group stages. Every player contributed to the team’s success, showcasing versatility and resilience in high- pressure moments.
Scoring an impressive 21 goals in the group stages, the team advanced confidently to the semi-finals, where they faced a formidable challenge, St Mark’s- the reigning champions! The match was tightly contested, with both teams showing strong tactical awareness and fierce determination. Despite a valiant effort and some brilliant moments of play, the team narrowly missed out on a place in the final, losing 2-0. Although the tournament ended in disappointment, the team can be immensely proud of their performance and equal 3rd place achievement.

Year 5/6 Development Team
The High- 5 Development Team showed tremendous heart, determination, and team spirit throughout their recent tournament campaign. Despite facing the initial challenge of not playing together in a while, the team took to the court with energy and enthusiasm, ready to embrace every opportunity to learn and grow.
The early stages of the tournament proved tough, with the team coming up against strong and experienced opposition. In their third game, they showed real grit and progression, with Lola (5S) scoring first- a moment that clearly lifted team morale and marked a turning point in their performance.
What stood out more than the score line, however, was the team’s incredible positivity and resilience. They supported one another both on and off the court, celebrating small victories and showing genuine enthusiasm for the game.
Their perseverance paid off in a fantastic fashion during their final match against Oaklands. With renewed confidence and sharper execution, the team played their best netball of the day- moving the ball fluently, defending with determination, and shooting with confidence. Their efforts were rewarded with a well- earned 4- 1 victory, finishing the tournament on a real high. A special mention to Lola (5S) and Olivia (6S) who positioned as GA and GS during this match. This result was not just a win on the scoresheet, but a reflection of their progress throughout the day. A brilliant team effort from all players!
