Last week, our Year 6 Fielding Maths team competed in the semi finals of the National Maths Championship. This was an online stage of the competition with a place in a face to face Finals day at Oxford University awaiting the top performing teams. 

The team was excited to test themselves again against some of the country's brightest and best young mathematicians. The standard was noticeably higher at this stage as the complexity and difficulty of the problems increased. After a tense 60 minutes of problem solving we were disappointed but equally proud to have finished around 40th out of 120 schools which wasn't enough to get to the final. It was a great experience though and one we hope to build on next year.
