Pupils in years 1 and 2 benefit from a stunning new library thanks to PTFA fundraising and the generosity of parents who support PTFA events. Pupils love the library refurbishment. A pupil in year 2 told Mrs Hodge, Librarian, "This is the library of my dreams".
The new library was installed last week. Mrs Hodge designed the space to match our needs, including a large space for a whole class to sit for librarian's story time, storage and display for up to 3,000 books, sofas, stools and alcoves for pupils to curl-up with a book.
This library is located outside year 2 classrooms, making best use of a shared corridor space. Pupils in years 1 and 2 have easy access to books and library.
The style of the library compliments the library at the front of the school for pupils in years 3-6, funded by the school and opened by Her Majesty the Queen, last year.
Together, fundraising by the PTFA, the generosity of parents attending PTFA events and the school's own funds, gives all pupils from year 1 to year 6 beautiful library spaces within school to help them develop a love of reading.
The PTFA is now working towards funding the refurbishment of the Kitchen Garden, used by all pupils, to include improved hen house, replacement of the poly tunnel and replacement of the wildlife pond.
