Harvest in the garden

After a long, dry spring a lot of the fruit and vegetables in the garden are now ready to eat and/or harvest. The children have been enjoying some delicious ripe strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants and rhubarb and some of the classes in years 4, 5 and 6 have been harvesting in the garden recently. Years 6 and 5 and harvested garlic and onions respectively. These were planted before the winter, demonstrating how long it takes to grow many common foods. The produce will be distributed to the classes in the coming weeks, after they have dried out in the polytunnel.

Potatoes that were planted by the younger years are growing well and will be harvested at gardening in the coming weeks.
