During assembly on Monday 2nd June Mr Dunmall and I will be talking to the children about how to keep themselves safe. We will help the children understand that it is their right to be happy and safe and to encourage the understanding that any problem or worry that they may have is legitimate, and to share their worries – big or small – with their trusted adult; at home, at school, or with ChildLine.

During the assembly we focus on  different forms of abuse, and an how to recognise the signs of harm or abuse, including child on child and domestic abuse an online safety.  We will also be talking about ow different agencies work together to support children and families, using the new resource from Gov.uk: Working together to safeguard children: an illustrated guide for children, young people and their families.  These topics will be tackled in an age-appropriate way and child will be given time to discuss the issues are any worries with their class teacher after the assembly.
