Keeping Safe Assembly – Monday 22nd September

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, myself and Mr Dunmall will be delivering our termly ‘Keeping Safe’ assembly to all pupils on Monday 22nd September.

These assemblies are designed to help children understand how to stay safe in an age-appropriate and sensitive way. This term, we will be focusing on two key themes:

  • Not Keeping Secrets – helping children understand the difference between good surprises and harmful secrets.
  • Trusted Adults in School – reminding pupils who they can talk to if they feel worried, unsafe, or unsure about something.

We will also be reminding children about the different types of abuse in a way that is appropriate for each age group, ensuring that children feel informed, empowered, and supported. We will be using materials from the NSPCC and the text 'Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept'  by Janeen Sanders
