Our Fresh New School Menu: Nourishing Bodies, Feeding Minds!
We’re happy to unveil our brand-new school dinner menu, proudly provided by ISS – Feeding Hungry Minds. This menu starts after the October hlaf-term holiday.
🌱 ISS’s ethos is rooted in sustainability, health, and inclusivity. Their “Plates for Our Planet” initiative ensures that many meals are low-carbon certified by the World Resources Institute – meaning they produce at least 38% fewer carbon emissions than the average meal. This supports our school’s commitment to environmental responsibility and healthy living.
Each week features a delicious variety of dishes, from Rainbow Chilli with Mexican Rice to Root Veg & Sage Wellington, and from Singapore Chicken Noodles to Mac & Cheese with Roasted Squash. Meals are clearly labelled as plant-based, vegetarian, halal, and low-carbon options, making it easy for children to make informed choices.
Family Style Dining
At Fielding, we’re proud to serve our meals family-style, where children sit together, share food, and build social skills in a warm, inclusive dining environment. This approach fosters a sense of community and encourages positive mealtime habits.
A free hot meal for every child
Thanks to the Mayor of London’s Universal Free School Meals programme, all primary-aged pupils in London receive a free nutritious lunch every day, helping families save over £500 per child annually and ensuring no child goes hungry in school.
Meeting National Standards
ISS meals fully comply with the Department for Education’s School Food Standards, ensuring that every child receives a balanced diet rich in fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy. These standards promote healthy eating habits and support children’s physical and cognitive development.
