Help us avoid issues with specialist club bookings next week. We’ve discovered a technical issue with Bromcom's My Child At School (MCAS) app affecting specialist club bookings. Some paid bookings do not appear on registers, meaning children may not be called to their club. This appears to be a Bromcom software fault, not a parent or school error. Here’s what’s happening and how we’re working around it.
What’s the issue?
When parents book and pay for after-school specialist clubs through MCAS, the booking should automatically appear on our registers. Recently, some bookings have been hidden in Bromcom’s system, meaning children are not listed for their club—even though payment was made. This is not a parent mistake or school error. Bromcom has acknowledged the fault but will not fix it until next year. This is very frustrating for us because it was working when we first purchased the software.
Why does it happen?
Our insight: if more than one club is booked in a single transaction and one club is already full, none of the bookings in that parent's basket go through—even though payment is taken. This seems to be a hidden software issue.
What are we doing?
