As we look ahead towards the second half of the spring term, we want to keep you informed about the provisional dates currently held in the school calendar for our occasional day linked to Eid al‑Fitr.
Provisional Dates Being Held
We are currently holding the following three dates in the school calendar:
These dates remain provisional while we wait for confirmation of the exact day of Eid, which depends on the sighting of the moon once Ramadan begins.
What We Know So Far
Based on current astronomical forecasts, Eid al‑Fitr in 2026 is most widely expected to fall on Friday, 20th March 2026, though this may vary slightly depending on moon‑sighting methods followed by different communities.
The exact date of Eid can only be confirmed once Ramadan has begun and the new moon marking the end of the month is sighted. Ramadan 2026 is expected to start on 17–19 February 2026, again subject to moon sighting.
When Will School Confirm the Occasional Day?
We will confirm the final selected date once Ramadan has started and we have clearer guidance on the most likely day of Eid. We understand that many families will need to plan ahead for childcare and time off work, and we will communicate updates as early as possible.
Thank You for Your Understanding
We appreciate that waiting for final confirmation can be challenging. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure our school community is well supported during this important celebration for many of our families. We remain committed to being considerate and inclusive of all faiths within our school.
