A Successful Book Week!

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your wonderful support throughout Book Week. Whether you purchased books, joined us to read with the children in KS1 or helped your child create a ‘Story in a Box’, your involvement helped make the week truly special.

It was a highly enjoyable few days in school, filled with excitement and a real love of reading. The children were delighted by the surprise mystery readers who visited their classrooms and it was heartwarming to see our older pupils buddy up with younger children for shared reading sessions.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Alan Robinson, our visiting author, illustrator, animator (and parent!), for his wonderful sessions with Reception, and to our poet Kate Wakeling, who delivered fantastic workshops from Year 1 to Year 6 where the children were especially amazed by Kate’s ability to recite a long poem in only a few breaths!

To round off the week, our ‘Story in a Box’ showcase was a real highlight. Staff were amazed by the creativity, detail, and effort put into each box. It was a joy to see such a wide range of favourite stories brought to life across the school.

The Book Fair was also a tremendous success. We raised £1984, which gives Fielding £1,190 to spend on books and dictionaries for the school. Thank you to Mrs Hodge who organised the book fair and to everyone who purchased a book.

Thank you once again for your enthusiasm and support. Book Week is always a memorable event and we are already looking forward to next year. We hope you enjoy the selection of photos from the week.
