Year 4 Girls Football Festival

Recently, a group of Year 4 Girls took part in #MadeforthisGame, the biggest ever football session, a nationwide initiative aimed at providing girls with greater opportunities and equal access in football and sport. Although we successfully advocate for girls’ participation in football, we believed it was important to celebrate this exciting day with other local primary schools.

Unlike traditional competitive matches, this event was a non-competitive celebration of football, offering the perfect environment for the girls to develop their skills and confidence throughout the day. With no pressure of winning or losing, the emphasis was placed squarely on teamwork, personal growth, and enjoyment.

The day kicked off with a range of skill-based activities where the girls practiced the basics, from dribbling and passing to shooting and defending. The coaches made sure to create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere, ensuring that every girl felt comfortable and inspired to try new things, no matter their performance level.

It was truly heartwarming to witness how each girl developed in self-confidence, and the levels of joy, determination and support that were displayed. Massive congratulations and well done to all!
