International Charity Day

The school’s final charity event of the year will take place on Friday 24th April and will support our chosen international charity, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

On the day of the event, pupils will be learning about the importance of giving and how supporting charitable causes links to the school’s core value of empathy through their Inner Curriculum lessons. Children will explore how the ICRC helps people around the world who are affected by conflict, disaster and humanitarian crisis.

To support the charity, families are invited to make a small voluntary donation on the day, with a suggested contribution of £1. Children will bring their donations into class during soft start, and there will be a playground treasure hunt/quiz organised by Year 4 during breaktime.

Donations will be collected from each class and passed on to the ICRC to support its vital humanitarian work across the world. Teachers have carefully planned the associated values lessons to ensure they are delivered in a mindful and age‑appropriate way, with a focus on kindness, compassion and helping others.
