Fielding took six children to Gunnersbury Sports Hub to represent the school this year at the Year 4 mini red tennis competition. 

The children showed great effort, determination, and respect in all of their matches, competing well against strong opposition from other schools. Across the event, the team demonstrated improving consistency in their rallies and a good understanding of positioning and tactics. Their teamwork and encouragement of one another was particularly pleasing to see. 

After placing top of our group, we advanced through to the semi-finals, where we then faced Acton Gardens and won 5-1 in games, highlighting their impressive performances. In the semi-finals, we faced Mount Carmel and, with the score tied 3-3 on games, it was decided on points scored, and we unfortunately lost. The children did not let them discourage them and faced Little Ealing in the third and fourth place play-off. This was again another close game, with the scores tied again at 3-3 and having to be decided by points scored – we unfortunately lost by 1 point. 

Overall, Fielding placed 4th out of 10 schools and this highlighted a fantastic achievement by the team with some equally impressive performances.
