School & Nursery term dates to July 2028

School term and holiday dates from September 2027 to July 2028 are now available. Nursery and school holiday childcare dates are also included.

Pupils' attendance at Fielding continues to be very high, reflecting the way that our families value their children's education so highly. Please continue to make all holiday and other travel arrangements during school holiday periods.

Strong learning for pupils needs strong attendance at school with no periods of travel or holiday during term-time:

  • Every day at school matters. Small steps build big learning. Brian science tells us that children learn best in small steps that join together - like building a tall, steady tower of blocks. When a child is absent, a block is missing. This gap makes it harder to add the next piece of learning securely.
  • Attendance helps learning stick. Research on memory shows that children remember ideas when they think about them often and practice them over time. Absences reduce the repetition and revisiting that long-term memory needs. When children miss these key moments, new learning has less to stick on to. Being in school every day helps children strengthen what they have learned so it stays with them for the long run.
  • Strong foundations for High School. The early years build the foundation blocks for future learning, and Years 3–6 add the essential layers children will need at secondary school. Cognitive psychology tells us that knowledge grows when it can link to what children already know—so missing days breaks the chain of understanding.

Your child gets one chance at this journey. Daily attendance helps secure the foundations they will rely on for years to come. Please avoid travel and/or holidays during term-time.

We continue to set an Ealing Council's 'Occasional Day' holiday for Eid al-Fitr to mark the end of the month of Ramadan for Muslims. The exact date of Eid depends on the cycle of the moon and will be published as soon as Eid is confirmed. We close for Eid because staff are entitled to leave for religious observance. We are not able to cover all staff who request leave or operate safely.
