Year 4: Are school lunches in France the same as ours?

Are school lunches in France the same as ours?

In Year 4, pupils have linked classrooms with Ombrosa International School, Lyon, France to find if school lunches in France are the same as ours.

Comparing our playgrounds:

We exchanged scrap books and pictures about our playgrounds. We noticed lots of similarities and differences:

Similarities that we noticed:

' Both of our playgrounds are very spacious.'

' We both have concrete areas in our playgrounds.'

' Our playgrounds are both surrounded by trees and plants.'

' When it's wet play, we both have to stay in class.'

' We play similar games hand/finger games, although sometimes we use different names. For example: 007 and Chopsticks (but in France they call it La Bataille des doigts).

'We play similar traditional games, although sometimes we use different names. For example Duck Duck Goose (but in France they call in Tomato, Tomato Ketchup).

'We play similar playground games like football, skipping, Zombies and Cops and Robbers (Policiers et Voleurs).

'We both have a big main tree in the playground. Ours is an oak tree. In Ombrosa they have a big cherry tree.'

Differences that we noticed:

'At Fielding we have a lot more playground equipment to play with, for example the climbing frames and the pirate ship.'

' At Fielding we have a forest area.'

'At Fielding we have benches to sit, but we don't see any in Ombrosa's playground.'

'At Ombrosa, they can play football whenever they like. We are only allowed to play with QPR.'
