If you have another child in the Nursery, Reception or the ARP, you will get a separate email regarding their outcomes and when they will be published.

Writing assessment outcomes

We wrote to parents earlier in the term to share the changes that are happening in the way we teach writing. The ‘I am a Clever Writer (IAACW)’ approach, goes back to basics – it focuses on improving skills in spelling, handwriting, and grammar. As we transition to IAACW, you will notice that your child's writing outcomes appear lower than expected when they are published. This is due to the adjustments we are making to align with this new method. For some children it will look like they have made no progress, for others it might even appear that they have ‘gone backwards.' This is completely normal as we gain a better understanding of the gaps children have in their knowledge. Class teachers are keeping a close eye on each child's progress and will provide the support they need to succeed. Find out more here:

 Parent Consultation Meetings

We know you might have questions about these changes and your child's assessment outcomes. To keep you informed, class teachers will discuss your child's progress and the next steps during the upcoming parent consultation meetings. This is a great chance to understand how the IAACW approach benefits your child and to work together on ways to support their learning at home.
