Every year, Fielding receives a low level of government funding compared to other schools. Typically, Fielding is in the lowest 2% of schools because our community has less social deprivation than others. We do all that we can to top this up by generating our own income from things like hiring the school's facilities. Parents can help by making a donation to the school.
Around 80 families make a regular donation to the school each month. Since welcoming donations in June 2021, parents have donated a total of £132,645 directly to the school. At our peak, there were 200 donations per month.
Donations make a difference. Every £1 donated is spent back on pupils, offering them more from our school. Last year, parents' donations helped fund:
Since the introduction of free school meals for all pupils, some parents tell us that they want to donate more to the school. However, we are also mindful of the rising cost of living.
There is a fine balance between sharing this information, reminding those who want to make a voluntary donation while not putting any expectation on those families who do not want to make a voluntary donation.
If more families make a regular donation of just £5 per month, we can keep offering our pupils the best education we can. If you would like to start making a regular, voluntary donation to the school, please contact us for our bank details:
