Thursday 25th April brought around the NFL Flag Football competition at Gunnersbury Park for our Year 5 & 6 team.

 

Our first game was against Selborne which turned out to be a thrilling game. With Selborne leading 18-12 and 30 seconds remaining on the clock, we managed to score a touchdown to tie the game. We knew we needed the extra points and after a great run, Sev (6S) was able to score and secure the victory.

 

Lastly, playing Little Ealing in the Semi-Final who posed a difficult challenge for us and resulting in a 28-0 loss.

 

In the the 3rd and 4th place play-off, we faced off against St Vincent's. This proved to be another thrilling and close game as the score after normal time ended 12-12. After no score in overtime, we went to a penalty shoot out with both teams having one attempt to score. Oscar (6P) made a great pass to Tem (6F) who was able to convert. Our defence knew that by stopping the next play, it would secure the win and Axel (6S) was able to intercept and knock the ball away giving Fielding the win.

(3rd/4th place play-off) Win vs St Vincent's 18-12

 

As a result of finishing third, we have now qualified for the London Youth Games.
