'Move-up' morning is cancelled this year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Teachers want to welcome their pupils. Instead:

• Reception joiners video for parents, Fielding YouTube channel, "Starting School 2020-21";
• original class teachers for this school year, 2019/20, will create a 'good-bye' video;
• new class teachers for 2020/21, will create a 'welcome' video;
• pupils can also watch a virtual tour style video of their new year group area, showing entrance doors, classroom spaces, toilets and anything else that teachers think pupils might want to know;
• all pupils, in school or at home, can write to their new teacher. Guidance on what to include will be published on Year Group Noticeboards for those at home. Pupils at home can send to current class teacher who will forward on to the new teacher for them.

We have changed our arrangements because we must continue to minimise the risk of infection in our school. The health and safety of our staff and pupils remains our highest priority. This means:

• teachers and pupils in school cannot switch 'bubbles';
• teachers at home need to stay away from school to keep safe;
• pupils at home cannot return to school because there is no more classroom space.
