PTFA - Your Child Needs Help - with scarecrows

With the new allotments built within the school grounds, it will be important to ensure that birds do not come along and eat the fruits of the pupils labour this summer. That is why the PTFA will be running the very first Scarecrow Competition & Parade.

We are looking for pupils to build a scarecrow over the next few weeks and enter into our competition which will see the six best scarecrows adorn the allotment plot....in full view of the rest of the school.

With half term nearly upon us, why not take this opportunity to help your child build a scarecrow. Clear out some of your old clothes, utilise the free hessian sacks offered by The Fields Coffee Shop, collect grass cutting, rags or wood chip for the stuffing and away you go! We'll also be running a scarecrow making workshop during the Summer Picnic.

Pupils can bring in their scarecrows anytime from Monday 4 June and they will be displayed in the Scarecrow Parade until the Summer Fair. Judging will take place at the Summer Fair with winners announced at 3pm on Saturday 30 June – hopefully with the Mayor of Ealing! If you have a front garden why not use the scarecrows to promote Fair by hanging poster off, otherwise bring them within the safe confines of school grounds.

Entry forms, judging criteria and hints & tips are available
