Primary School and Nursery
Keep up to date with all the news happening in the school at the moment. Articles are added during the week. Parents are encouraged to check regularly. Our weekly bulletin, emailed directly to parents, summarises content for the week.
Parents continue to tell us of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in their children across the school. The number of new confirmed cases each day is not rising but not falling.
'Amber' control measures are likely to continue to the end of this term. We want to keep the risk of infection transmission in school as low as possible. We reviewed cases and control measures on Friday with Ealing's public health experts. We will review the impact of the 'amber' control measures again on Friday 3 December.
From today, for pupils and staff in school, the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 means that:
Parents please continue to:
In school, the government expects us to give pupils their full education face-to-face, including after-school clubs and any additional support. All of our 'green' control measures continue, including ventilation and 2m distancing for adults. 'Amber' measures mean that our controls step-up:
We continue to keep in touch and set work for those pupils who are learning at home as a result of public health rules telling them that they must self-isolate.
I will write again if there are any other changes, including if the government's expectations on schools change as a result of the Omicron variant.

The PTFA would really appreciate your second hand donations for the Christmas Market. Donation boxes will be left out by the main hall from Monday 29 November, near the Wyndham Road Entrance, where you can drop-off your donations. Please donate any of the items below:
Please send in a bottle to the PTFA for their Bottle Tombola stall at the Christmas Open Air Market in exchange for non-uniform day. The stall raises a large sum of money, this is down to the great donations we receive from parents. For every bottle kindly donated, pupils can choose to wear their own clothes to school. Please can you bring in a full, unopened bottle on Friday morning, 3 December, to one of the collection points at the school entrances. Perfume, alcoholic and non-alcoholic bottles accepted - all must be unopened, in-date and and full bottles.
Year 3 pupils, who would usually come to school in their PE uniforms on a Friday, are asked to wear clothes that are suitable for a PE, sport and games session for example, a favourite football kit, leggings/jogging bottoms, t-shirt and long-sleeved top.
Tickets for the Christmas raffle will be going home in children's bag this week. Please put sold raffle ticket stubs and money in the envelope provided and drop them off in the PTFA boxes which will be at the three main entrances at drop-off and pick-up from Monday 29 November until Friday 3 December. This year we have some great prizes up for grabs including a new iPad Pro 12.9" 1TB worth £1650, Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max worth £1350, John Lewis vouchers and a bunch of other prizes.
If you would like to volunteer to help collect tickets at the school entrances, then please add your name to the slots available here. It's a great way to chat to parents from across the school in the open air https://volunteersignup.org/KYDDF
Every age group has at least 1 confirmed case of COVID-19. Highest cases in the last 10 days are in classes in years 4, 5 & 6.
Thanks to all parents who are checking children at home each day for coronavirus infection using a lateral flow test.
Parents please:
If you or a family member play a musical instrument and are up for performing a couple of songs then we'd love to hear you!
Fielding's Christmas Market is fast approaching and on Wednesday 24 November at 8pm we open ticket sales for Santa's Grotto. We are only able to sell 210 tickets and they are sold on a first come first served basis. The Grotto will be outside and we're asking children to visit within key stage groups (except siblings who can go together) to reduce mixing. Volunteers working on the stall will be required to take a lateral-flow test in the morning of the fair and parents entering the Grotto are requested to wear a mask and sanitise before entry.
Click on the link below from 8pm and select the relevant time slot, making sure you've selected the correct key-stage group. If you see the 'Password page' then please refresh your page as this will disappear at 8pm. There won't be any "on the door" tickets this year.

Children will be going into the Grotto in groups of ten at a time and spend 10 minutes chatting with Santa. Tickets are priced at £4.50 per child. You will be asked to supply the name and age of each child so that we can assign an age appropriate present.
Ealing Food Bank have been to collect the generous donations made. They were extremely grateful for the donations, which included £249.91 in cash, as well as a mountain of store-cupboard food. Your kindness has helped local families in need.
If you wish to continue supporting the food bank, their website has details of how you can help.
Thanks from Fielding staff and Ealing Food Bank.
