  • Fielding go to Borough Finals for Girls Football, Mixed Rugby and Mixed Hockey...and win!

    Thu 28 Feb 2019

Fielding took teams to the Borough Finals for 3 different sports this week which were all held at Featherstone High School. The Girls Football team, Mixed Tag Rugby team and Mixed Quicksticks Hockey team all qualified for Borough finals to compete against the other 3 top teams in Ealing and Southall after winning performances in previous competitions.

All 3 teams were excellent as they tested themselves against the best in the Borough while representing Fielding. The rugby team finished 2nd in their finals and so can call themselves the second best team in the whole Borough this year. The girls football team won their finals to qualify for the London Youth Games as the representative team for the Borough of Ealing. Then the Hockey team won their finals to also qualify for the London Youth Games.

We are very proud of all of our teams and now look forward to the write ups from some of our sportsmen and women which will be up on the PE page soon.

  • Term and school holiday dates for September 2020

Wed 27 Feb 2019 Peter Dunmall

    Make holiday and travel arrangements

School term and holiday dates from September 2020 to July 2021 have been finalised and published.

Attendance at Fielding continues to be very high, reflecting the way that our families value their children's education so highly. Please continue to make all holiday and other travel arrangements during school holiday periods.

Our assessment information shows that the more days pupils are in school, the more likely they are to succeed.

  • World Book Day- Thursday 7th March

    Tue 26 Feb 2019

We are very excited to announce that next Thursday 7th March is World Book Day! Children are invited to dress up as a book character for the day but this is not compulsory. You may also wish to donate £1 and/or a book to class libraries which would be greatly appreciated. We are delighted to have confirmed a visit for the day from one of our Fielding parents, Sam Copeland, who is author of, 'Charlie turns into a chicken.' He will be leading phase assemblies throughout the day for children from Reception to Year 6 and signing copies of his book which will be available to buy for £6. If you would like to purchase a book for your child, please provide exact money on Thursday in an envelope with your child's name on so that they are able to bring it directly to the book signing. School will provide a copy of the book for those who have a pupil premium passport.

  • PTFA has already raised £20,000 this year academic year

    Fri 15 Feb 2019

As you may have read last week, the PTFA has already raised £20,000 this year academic year.
During the last couple of PTFA meetings, parents have been suggesting some ideas of how we should be spending the money and then putting them forward to the school.
At the most recent PTFA meeting, Mr Dunmall had made a couple of bids, based on parent feedback, for projects that he would like the PTFA to fund. Here are two that were outlined:
    1) As parents/students will remember, last summer was extremely hot and many children struggled with the unbearable heat at break/lunchtimes. So, the first bid is to create some shaded areas on the school playing field.
The design of these shaded areas is expected to complement the plans for the all-weather playing field that is currently in consultation stage with parents and local residents.
    2) The second bid is for an 'Artist in Residence' to support annual Year 2 values-based art work, which would take place during the summer term. This was something that both the school and parents believe is important to add value to pupils learning and experience at the school.
There are a couple of other suggestions being circulated and we will talk about these next week.
Feel free to comment by emailing fieldingptfa@gmail.com
